I love road side attractions and the picture for the link to the story was the Cadillac Ranch in Texas where we stopped in April on the way home from Santa Fe. I don't really have time to look through the list right now, but if I post about it on my blog maybe I can get back to it someday!

Lost Ansel Adams Negatives

Negatives that were bought 10 years ago in a yard sale for $45 are valued today at $200 million! Some of the negatives have never had prints made from them. They are thought to be some of his early work that was believed to have been lost in a fire.

Saving a Sacred Mountain

The Dongria Kondh tribe in India is fighting to save their sacred mountain in India from a British company Vedanta Resources who wish to mine to mountain for bauxite. The story is similar to the movie Avatar except as far as I know the company is not coming in a ginormous robotish suits. Survival International is helping them try the mountain that is elemental to their survival and way of life.
