I have some questions about Lil Wayne

" Lil Wayne sold a million copies of Tha Carter III its debut week, making him the first artist to pull off the feat since 50 Cent went platinum with The Massacre in a mere seven days in 2005.."

I don't really care about this. I like the song Lollipop and I haven't really listened to anything else from the new CD. However, his new album has caused some extra coverage of him that I thought was a little bit interesting. If you don't have cable like me you can catch his performance at BET Awards with T-Pain. I thought it was a little strange and he seemed out of it which could be for reason I won't name or due to his frequent drug use.

Wordle is Wordelicious

Came across Wordle mentioned in the Popcandy blog while browsing the internet today. I didn't really understand what they meant by word cloud so I had to go check it out. The first suggestions is to just put in a bunch of words in, like lyrics to a song. Since I am addicted to the Sugarland song "Stay" right now I googled the lyrics and with some copy and paste magic it was done! It was pretty cool and you can see the results of my hard work below ; )

My New Favorite Website

National Geographic Daily News

Who doesn't love the photos in Nat'l Geographic!? I also added a link to it in my Favorite Things Section.

New Lost Boys Movie

I am a little worried about the new Lost Boys Movie. I love the first one, still watch it today and own the soundtrack on CD. I probably also have the tape floating around somewhere! The new movie has one of the Coreys returning and then a bunch of new people. There is also a new version of Cry Little Sister that you can hear on the official website.

Bad Bar Songs

I vote for anything slow at the end of the night that inevitably brings you down. Living in Louisiana it is not like you are going to head to the bar and find you that special someone to take home at the end of the night every time you go to the bar. That only happens on special nights when someone has way to much alcohol and way to little sense. Most nights you are chilling at the bar having a good time with your friends when 12:30 rolls around (most places in the world that is when you start heading to the bar) and they start playing the slow music. It kinda takes everyone out of their happy place and makes them look around and realize how depressing everything is.

Some dude made up a list of 14 Songs You Should Never Play in a Bar that I for the most part agree with. His comments are pretty funny.

My Medicine

The new video "My Medicine" from Snoop Dogg is out and features appearances by several country stars. It is like some weird alternate dimension of country music. He is not really saying that much in the song, but the shots of him hanging out in the country are pretty funny.

Happy National Fudge Day!

I found out today by chance in a random work email that today is National Fudge Day! There is not a lot of information on the internet about this joyous holiday, but through some quick googling I confirmed it through some semi-legit websites. Candy USA! has a calendar devoted to candy holidays!

Kittie Update

The kittens are two weeks old and we are down to 6. Tigre killed 3 of the babies over the last week and there are various theories as to why she did this. It could possibly be just because she is crazy. A couple of them are spoken for, but several are still available for adoption.

Linda Torturing the Dogs

Linda spent the day at my house a couple of weeks ago and received untold hours of entertainment torturing the dogs. It was a good thing she had them to play with as I was working on the house that day and a little busy. Luckily they are good sports and put up with her bothering them. I think they like her because she usually has a little something left over from her last meal on her clothes!

What is the last delivery to Antartica before winter?

Antarctic base gets condom haul before winter

"Bill Henriksen, the manager of the McMurdo base station, said nearly 16,500 condoms were delivered last month and would be made available, free of charge, to staff throughout the year to avoid the potential embarrassment of having to buy them."

Note: There is a 125 staff members over the winter and a lot of long nights!

NKOTB New Video!

VH1 has a preview of the new NKOTB video "Summertime"! Watching it they look really old for a boy band, but it totally takes me back to 3rd grade and I feel like a giddy little school girl. I think Donnie is the one with his shirt open when they are dancing and he kinda looks skeezy. Are they hoping to attract a following on little girls like before. If so that kinda turns them into R. Kelly multiplied by five. Hopefully they will not be the next one on trial for interacting with little girls in a very wrong way.

Kitties!

Tigre, the Spawn of Satan, started spitting out kittens on Monday night. It was not unexpected, but she started in the middle of the kitchen while we were trying to get dinner together. Monday night was also the first night that the new A&E intern Ed "Chops" Fitzgerald got into town. He is crashing at my house for the foreseeable future unless the heat drives him away. I did turn on the 2nd a/c for him which is rare, but I didn't want him to melt. Ed had an eventful 1st evening with the introduction to Louisiana summers, backyard grilling, little girls swimming in the kiddie/doggie pool, and kittens in the middle of dinner. When the party broke up Tigre had spit out 5 kittens and was still pretty big. I was still surprised the next morning when I woke up to 9 kittens! Tigre and the babies are staying at Billy's House for Unwed Kitties presently so my dogs can't eat them.

New Reveille

Alumni File Photo

I don't keep up with affairs at Texas A&M that much and was a little surprised that they are looking for a new mascot. The recently retired Reveille started at the school my second year so I think she is about 6 or 7 years old now. The last several Reveilles have been collies, but they are now planning on changing the breed. Several of the mascots have had temperament and health issues so I can understand why they want to change the breed. However, I don't understand the nationwide search for a female dog 1-1 1/2 years old?!

I think they should just adopt a dog from the pound if you want my opinion.

It is Anarchy!

I drove by the office this morning on my way to the pool to get my early morning swim in (yeah, I love getting up in the middle of the night to exercise) and this was the view of our front yard at work. By the time everyone rolled into the office around 8 am. They had turned the water off and were trying to get to the pipe. When people realized we have no toilets it was like the world was coming to an end. Now, I agree you need bathrooms and running water in an office, but it is not the end of the world. I saw a horror movie once where the lack of gas brought on the apocalypse. I now realize it will be the lack of bathrooms that start this or if you live in the south the lack of air conditioning. I am pretty sure someone would commit murder within the first 5 minutes if the a/c went off in our building!

I Wish My Office Was This Cool

The theme is “Victorian / Steam Punk” for the Three Rings Design office. I don't really know what that means, but it is like Victorian/under the sea/pirate/mechanical room. It makes my cube look like a sad, depressing place where fun goes to die.

Marriage Doesn't Make You Happy?!

I am shocked and amazed! The story is on Oprah's website which means take it with a grain of salt (or less), but it reinforced my uninterest in marriage.
